Re: New here! 37F in NYC, Mom (71) is Pending Alzheimer's Dx
Not to sound weird, but there could also be other issues going on that could contribute to her speech issues. I feel compelled to play devil's advocate because it's not unusual for people to jump onto the "She/He has Alzheimer's!" train whenever they see an elderly relative become encumber...

Re: Google as Big Brother?
I really long for the old internet... back when dial up was the norm and one could find endless legit forums (like this one). Nowadays, you use a search engine like Google and come up with TONS of ads and commercial sites, and sites like this one are buried so deep you can't even find them. I like s...

Re: Blackstone to Acquire Ancestry®, Leading Online Family History Business, for $4.7 Billion

Re: Is apoe4 an evolutionary mistake?
Well, not to sound odd, but it seems that a touch of senility makes some older people less aggressive to some degree. Re: Anxious and fearful

I'm also really kind of resentful as I've come to realize I literally inherited the worst of both parents based on Promethease reports and process of elimination. My mother doesn't have the Apoe 4, but the Apoe 3-- I got the Apoe...

Re: MTHFR C677T and E4/E4
I wonder how many of us who carry E4 (I have E4/E3) also carry the C677T mutation, as well as MCAD deficiency, Alpha-1, ATM mutated. The last two were confirmed via "official" testing. I hit the lucky jackpot train wreck. I ALSO carry tons of problematic high-risk cardiovascular disease ge...

Re: Anxiety Management for ApoE4
I made a bee-line for this topic as someone who is ApoE4/E3. I've been on antidepressants for almost 20 years until I stopped about two years ago. The older I get, the more I suspect that being on so many antidepressants for so many years actually made me more cognitively impaired than anything else...
