Re: Test results

Congratulations, Nancy! I was told by a doctor that my insurance company won't pay Boston Heart lab tests and they are fighting it out in court. This doctor didn't want to get in the middle of the fight so she had my follow-up test done at Quest Diagnostics but not as comprehensive as those from Bos...

Re: CGM round #2

Apod, As I am still struggling to find better ways of eating to stabilize my blood glucose spikes and drops, I find your CGM/diet experiment very informative and look forward to your new discoveries in the second round. last month my doctor put me on a 5-day CGM (old model) test out that revealed mo...

Re: Glucose/Insulin 3-hour test result

Thanks Stavia. After carb loading all the way I failed to go through with retest where I was at the time, also my then endocrinologist told me not to as he had enough info to diagnose my problems. Now, the current endo who put me on Prandin do want me to repeat the test to her specifications, after ...

Re: Glucose/Insulin 3-hour test result

This begs the question of what is worse - a short duration glucose spike or a short duration insulin spike....ideas will be all theory and opinion IMO.... That's the question I wonder about. What would you do personally if you have my condition? Yesterday I had a hypo 5 hours after taken the pill a...

Re: Glucose/Insulin 3-hour test result

George, I would agree with you that insulin seems a better choice overall. This is my third Endo and first willing to use medication for my BG control. Will see if she would give me some insulin instead. Right now she wants me to use the drug before carb meals, and after my return in September repea...

Re: Glucose/Insulin 3-hour test result

Thank you, Susan and George. I have been reading up on the drug info more. I am thinking of using the drug only on occasions when large carb meals are unavoidable and I would not be able to walk around to bring the spike back down. But most time still eat low sugar/carb, therefore may not need to ta...

Re: Can B12 and B6 be too high?

Susan, do you think this analysis is correct that high serum Vitamin 6 level might be actually vitamin deficiency: "The MTHFR gene is extremely common and can lead to a problem processing the B Vitamins, making people particularly susceptible to deficiency of B12, folic acid, and Vitamin B6. Ir...

Re: Circling back to viral exposures....treat or not and how?

George, I would rather eating no more than two meals a day or go on longer fasting, esp. now to see it would boost immune system. But would fasting be a good choice for people with large pp meal blood glucose spike due to limited insulin production? I have been experimenting with smaller meals three...

Re: Circling back to viral exposures....treat or not and how?

Thank you Julie! {{{you}}} too, as you have been dealing with so many health challenges yourself. But you are doing such great job at it and helping so many others along the way! I will look into seeing an immunologist, likely in September after return from travel. Definitely needs to find a strateg...
