Dr. P - New video on the importance of exercise and brain cells

Hi all. Just poking in today. Not that we don't know this already, but I saw this today and thought it was pretty good. I really need to get out there more and exercise. http://www.drperlmutter.com/neurogenesis-re-grow-new-brain-cells-exercise/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=facebookposts&ut...

Re: Hello from Paul

Hello Paul! Welcome to this great community. I've found that a high fat/low carb diet satiates appetite and improves the lipid profile/blood sugar levels. Head Trauma - Alzheimers, Joe Rogan with Dr. Rhonda Patrick

Great "Joe Rogan Experience" show. Joe Rogan used to compete in mixed martial arts where brain injuries are common. Anyway, this woman, Dr. Rhonda Patrick, really seems to know her stuff. She gets into a lot of brain science in an interesting and passionate way, imo, including APOE4 materi...

How playing an instrument benefits your brain.

I thought this was pretty cool.

In addition to the 'brain exercise' benefits, playing music, once you get the hang of it, just feels good. So, win win.

...avoid diseases as in don't go where there are Ebola outbreaks unless you are in the medical field. Meaning don't plan a vacation in those countries. That's it. Now I'm gonna have to cancel that summer trip to the Congo. I guess I'll just have to settle for Bora Bora. Anyway, my sympathies to tho...

I'd put A1C Hemoglobin out there. High glucose levels seem to be associated with of plethora of problems and diseases - including AD.

Re: Preventative Measures We Agree Upon

I'd suggest that keeping blood glucose levels under control is important (A1C). I haven't seen anything controversial in that regard.

Re: NMR Data Sample

I really need to get the NMR Lipoprofile done. I'm in South Florida. This is surely a FAQ, but: would my best option be the Life-Extension Foundation? They're very close, although the blood draw location might be irrelevant. (Sorry, too many years living with socialized medicine to know how things ...

Re: Michael's Intro

Hi, Starfish. Yes, I've been HFLC for nearly 1.5 years now - which means no wheat except on occasion when visiting relatives that serve it, etc. Recently, I've been experimenting with 'Carb Nite'. This is a plan where you eat carbs one night per week. Dr. Patel and a low-cab PhD named "Keifer&q...

Re: My List

Hear hear, Starfish! Julie, you're such an inspiration and a great help. It's wonderful to see you doing so outstandingly well after finding, what appears to be, the right direction when you did. It's benefits us all and I, for one, am thankful for it ;)
