Need help to understand tests
I received new blood tests. I have read Dr. Bredesen's book and used an index to look up some of them. I found he discusses homoscystine - mine is 11.8 and fasting insulin - mine is 17.2. I did not find these: lipase - mine is 32, fibrinogen activity clauss - mine is 430. Liporotein(a) - mine is les...

Re: New Here
Sure, here is a link to the You Tube video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEz1P4i1P7s
He starts talking about metformin about 22 minutes into this 49 minute interview. I found the whole interview really interesting, but just in case you choose to skip ahead.

Re: New Here
Hi again: I was listening to YouTube and came across David Sinclair, he is at Harvard. He started talking about Metformin, among other things. Apparently, the upside for anti-aging, which would include non-brain aging, is fantastic. But he confirmed what you said. He uses metformin every other day. ...

Re: Risk Factor Question - Family History
Thanks! This looks really interesting. Looked promising for e4/e4, but in limitations they state that numbers of these cases were small. However, for my concern (I'm e3/34) - as I drill down to the results in the charts, I see that the conflate e2/e4 with e3/e4 and do not break down the figures for ...

Sonomo Mike: No AD symptoms. Weight - I'm down 25 pounds down from 14 months ago. BMI under 35. Probably no toxin exposure, Probably Dr. Bredesen's "Type 1.5". My A1C was elevated the first time I tested five years ago and has stayed elevated. I tried to lower it, but not very hard at firs...

Re: New Here
Hello Mike! Thanks for your reply. On Metformin, the truth is, right now, I wish I had more. But if its purpose is to make my cells insulin sensitive, I guess I thought the best way was to get myself in better shape so that I did not need it. If it has other purposes and I've been fortunate to be pu...

Risk Factor Question - Family History
My mother and maternal grandmother had dementia. I am 3/4. I know it is not certain, but I think the "4" was probably from grandmother/mother. (No dementia on father's side). Both mother and grandmother were cognitively fine until age 80, at which point some decline set in. They were able ...

Re: South Florida MEETUP???
I'm near Ocala, about 90 minutes north of Orlando. I would be interested, especially if it was the "north part of the south"

Re: New Here
Fabulous! I did not know about that.
And...if that, in addition to letting me know about the search function, is a way to tell me I was wandering off topic, it is the most polite and tactful I have ever seen I'll watch out.

Re: New Here
Thank you, Sara! You are so welcoming and I think you are such a gifted writer. I've gone through the excellen primer, I should have said that in my intro, and yes, I do need to find my way to the wiki and go through that. I also have a lot of interest in CVD, because I am at risk for that due my CA...
