Re: Primates and 4/4

Does he mention ApoE4? I might not get a chance to watch for over a month now, so wondering about that in particular, but will try to watch down the line when more time frees up. He's good.

Re: Soy and dementia

There's lots of evidence that doing things right today can effect positive bran changes :D Juliegee, good to know I might be assisting with the beneficent evolution of bran! lol ;-) I also use tamari since it's fermented. I think if I could get fermented tofu I might not worry about eating it occas...

Re: Genealogy and ApoE4

Vascular Dementia: Historical Perspective - Medscape http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/452842_2 I remember as a child being told my grandmother had "hardening of the arteries", then later my mother telling me that in retrospect it was clearly Alzheimer's. Now I want to see what they put ...

Re: Genealogy and ApoE4

I found that Michigan has some death certificates free online, originals. I found several from my maternal grandmother's line (the AD line). One said arteriosclerosis, which is what my grandmother was dx with in the 70s, before they understood it was Alzheimer's. So I *think* it's possible that if t...

Fish Oil and Brain Trauma

Interesting stuff, though I think fish oil is now connected with prostate cancer in men (?), and who knows what other adverse effects could come from such high doses, esp in 4s:

Re: Primates and 4/4

I just add plain cinnamon to my sweet potatoes, and oatmeal. I try to use it regularly to help with blood sugar, but I'm not sure the science on that. I find cinnamon alone works for sweet potatoes b/c the SPs already have so much sweetness. Then I always have blueberries in my oatmeal, so they prov...

Genealogy and ApoE4

I do a lot of genealogy, and I never thought about all the generations that had to have had ApoE4, at least one, for me to get it (assuming some weird back mutation didn't occur). And yet, in my research I have no record of dementia on either side of the family until my grandmother and her sister. M...

Re: Primates and 4/4

I'm coming to think that exercise and loads of antioxidants, direct from fresh (or flash frozen), organic, low glycemic foods might compensate for a lot. Look for the thread about the new book Eating Wild in the Diet folder, shop and prepare accordingly, then take long walks thinking about how wonde...
