Re: Effectiveness of Bredesen's Protocol for the Eighties
I sure as hell hope so. I'm 84, my cognitive evaluations show me average for my age, but I see plenty of room for improvement. At least I still have enough wits to follow the protocol and plenty of motivation to do the hard things that need to be done. I just hope I don't have to replace my amalgam ...

My deep secret
Prior to starting the Bredesen Protocol I took a complicated regimen of supplements, I take some for osteo arthritis, some for cardiovascular health and some for cognitive well being. Finally because I'm responsible for feeding myself, a task which when carried out by me can only be described as lac...

Re: NAD/niacinamide
I've been taking Basis by Elysium Health - a combination of nicotinamide riboside (NR) and pterostilbene. This firm takes itself very seriously and has actually conducted a double blind study. I'm probably paying more than I need to.

Metals Random Urine Doctor's Data Test Kit
Metals Random Urine Doctor's Data Test Kit available from Walk-In-Labs cost $119. It covers all the heavy metals in the BP. I'd appreciate any feed back about whether it's thought to be valuable as at least a first screening.

Re: Self lab test ordering online - US. Discount
I did some price comparing this afternoon and New Century Labs was consistently less expensive than the three other labs I've used in the past. New Century Labs doesn't offer all the tests suggested in the BP by a long shot but I'm going to go with them whenever I can.

Re: Not Apo E4
Thank you very much, Floramaria for you upbeat encouragement. Every time I start telling anyone the details of the protocol I'm trying to follow their eyes glaze over.

Not Apo E4
I'm Apo E3,3 but seriously interested in the Bredesen Protocol. I know the BP does make some Apo E4 specific recommendations, but would it not be the case that >90% of this site's material would apply to me as well?

WALK-IN LAB's prices are pretty good and thanks for the tip about the 20% discount. I also use LifeExtention and Request A Test.

I remember his connection with Dr. Hyman but also something more about sponsored trials?

Cleveland Clinic
What exactly is Dr. Bredesen's connection with the Cleveland Clinic? In dealing with allopathic medical professionals here in Ohio, the Cleveland Clinic adds a lot of gravitas to anything it touches. As a consequence talking about the BP gets a better reception if do some name dropping e.g. Clevelan...
