Ketogenic diet rescues cognition in ApoE4+ patient with mild Alzheimer's disease

Post by JimBG »

Interesting recent case study with the conclusion: "The results of this case study are particularly compelling for ApoE4 positive (ApoE4+) subjects as ketogenic protocols extend hope and promise for AD prevention."

Cool! Let's a hope full-blown study is done, one with isolation of the independent variables.

“a low carbohydrate/high fat diet, also known as the ketogenic diet, calorie restriction
(fasting), and both physical and cognitive exercises....”

We really can't conclude anything about ketosis and dementia per se. (But it's always good news when someone with dementia has a way to improve health.)
